Sabarimala
The Sabarimala Temple is a famous Hindu temple in Kerala, India, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa.The temple is located on a hilltop in the Western Ghats, 3,000 meters above sea level, in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.The temple's origins are debated, but some believe it was founded by Lord Parshuram.The pilgrim season is from November to mid-January, and the temple is closed for the rest of the year except for the first five days of every Malayalam month. The two main events of the pilgrim season are Mandala pooja and Makaravilakku.The temple is one of the largest annual pilgrimage sites in the world, with an estimated 10 to 15 million devotees visiting every year.
