Mattancherry Palace

The Jewish synagogue was built in 1568, almost 1500 years after the beginning of the Jewish connection with Kerala. It was built on the land, adjacent to the Mattancherry Palace, given by the erstwhile king of Cochin. The synagogue, the oldest in the Commonwealth, was built by the Jewish community of Cochin.

Kochi Water Metro

The Kochi Water Metro is a sustainable, eco-friendly, and efficient mode of transportation in Kochi, India. The boats are powered by a combination of electric batteries and diesel generators. They can run at a speed of up to 10 knots on diesel and 8 knots on electric power. The boats have a low wake wash slender hull The terminals have floating pontoons that adjust to tidal variations, making it easy for passengers to board and exit the boats. The boats have a ramp facility for the physically-handicapped, and a feeding chamber for mothers.

Hill Palace Thrippunithura

Thrippunithura is an archaeological museum and palace located in the neighbourhood of Kochi.It is the largest archeological museum in the state and was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin Maharaja. Built in 1865, the palace complex consists of 49 buildings spreading across 54 acres (220,000 m²) and built in the traditional architectural style. The complex has an archaeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer park, a pre-historic park and a children's park.

Bolgatty Palace

The Bolgatty Palace was built by a Dutch trader in 1744. The palace, overlooking Lake Vembanad, is one of the oldest Dutch palaces outside Netherlands. The King of Kochi leased the property to the British in 1909. Till the time of India's independence, it was used as lodging for British Governors.

Kadamakkudy Islands

Marine Drive

Cherai Beach

Cherai Beach , is approximately 25 km from downtown Kochi and 20 km from Cochin International Airport. Spanning about 10 km along the coast, it's known for its gentle tides and occasional dolphin sightings. The beach also offers a unique view where the backwaters meet the sea. This is hardly a beach.

Kodanad

Kodanad is a rural riverside village of Ernakulam district in Kerala, South India. It is 18 km from Angamaly. Kodanad is situated on the south bank of Periyar river, about 42 kilometers east of Kochi. The village is a major tourist destination because it houses an Elephant training center.

Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary

The Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, covering an area of barely 25 km2, and located about 12 km from Kothamangalam was the first bird sanctuary in Kerala. Salim Ali, one of the best known ornithologists, described this sanctuary as the richest bird habitat on peninsular India.

Kuttampuzha

Mamalakandam

Mamalakandam is a village located around 32 km from Kothamangalam taluk in Ernakulam district. It is located with an average elevation of 1200 meters above sea level.[3][4] The village became a known tourist attraction in Kothamangalam Taluk

Mangalavanam

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is popularly called the green lung of the city. It boasts thick mangrove vegetation that provides shelter to both endemic and migratory birds. Some of the popular species you can spot are little cormorant and black-crowned night heron.

Puthenthode Beach

Puthenthode Beach, Kochi Located at a distance of 12 kms from Kochi in Chellanam, Puthenthode Beach is a relatively newly made beach. Slightly smaller in area than the other beaches with only half a km in length, it is popular for its peaceful vibe and calm environs.

Kumbalangi Kavaru

With the onset of dusk, this location gets lit up by a natural phenomenon called bioluminescence, wooing people from all parts of the world. Well known in Kerala as 'Kavaru', bioluminescence occurs especially in summers when the water in the fields turns salty. The saltier the water, the brighter it gets.
