Munnar

Munnar is a hill station in the Idukki district of Kerala, known for its tea plantations, cool climate, and lush. Munnar is situated in the Western Ghats mountain range at an altitude of about 1,600 meters above sea level. The name "Munnar" comes from the Malayalam words for "three rivers", referring to the confluence of the Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala mountain streams.During the colonial era, Munnar was a summer resort for the British government in South India.

Marayoor

Marayoor has a natural sandalwood forest with around 65,000 trees. The sandalwood of Marayoor is said to be of high quality. There is a 'Sandalwood Regeneration Experimental Plot' here from where one can learn more on the fragrant tree.

Kanthalloor

Kanthalloor is famous for its apple, oranges, plums, peaches and variety of other fruits and vegetables that are not grown in other parts of Kerala. The Anaimudi Sholai National Park (formerly known as the Mannavan Chola) is the evergreen forest surrounding Kanthalloor.

Vattavada

Thekkady

Meesapulimala

Meesapulimala is a popular trekking destination in the Idukki district of Kerala. Meesapulimala is located in the Western Ghats, between the Anaimalai and Palani Hills, and about 20 km from Munnar. The peak is 2,640 meters (8,661 ft) above sea level. The peak offers views of Munnar, Suryanelli, the border between Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and the Kolukkumalai tea plantation.

It is located 41 KM towards North from District head quarters Painavu. 33 KM from Devikulam. Anakkulam is nearly 15 km away from Munnar Tea Estate. Everyone can enjoy dally here in large elephant herds within a distance of 50 meter. The herd strength includes young calf and the mighty tuskers. A nice walk through the forest and a cool bath in the Ittacholayar freshen one’s mind.

The Neelakurinji blooms from August to November, with the peak blooming period in September and October. The Neelakurinji can be found in the Western Ghats, the Shevroys in the Eastern Ghats, the Annamalai hills, the Agali hills, and the Sandur hills.
